What Kind of Data Do We Collect?
Data You Provide
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
- Register an account using "Sign in with Apple" or "Sign in with Google," including your User ID provided by these services.
- Use features like submitting URLs for conversion, setting language and voice preferences, or selecting interest tags for personalized AI analysis.
- Communicate with us via email, surveys, or feedback forms.
- Subscribe to LilyFM Pro (order information is generated through Apple In-App Purchase, and payment data is processed by Apple).
Content Data
When you submit a web page URL or a file for conversion, we access and process the textual content of that web page or file to generate audio and AI-powered analyses. LilyFM is not the controller of the resource content and does not make any guarantees regarding the safety and information security of external links or files themselves.
Automatically Collected Information
When you interact with our App, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Type of device (e.g., iPhone model), iOS version, identifierForVendor, and advertising identifier (IDFA, subject to your authorization and Apple's policies), IP address, and network status.
- Usage Data: Actions you take within the App (e.g., number of articles converted, features used, listening duration) and duration of use.
- Log Data: Access times, error logs, and activity logs to help us troubleshoot and improve the App.
- Device Token for Push Notifications: If you enable push notifications, we collect your device token to send you service-related notifications, such as when an audio conversion is complete.
How Do We Use Your Data?

- Operate, maintain, and improve our Services, including processing URLs, converting content to audio, generating AI-powered analyses, delivering audio and analyses to you, and managing your content library and preferences.
- Personalize your experience based on your selected interest tags, language, and voice preferences.
- Send important communications, such as account updates, security alerts, service-related notifications (e.g., audio conversion status), or, with your explicit consent, promotional messages (you may opt out).
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations or enforce our Terms of Service.
Do We Share The Data We Collect with Third Parties?
We do not sell or rent your personal information. However, we may share your data with:
- Service Providers: To help us develop, improve, maintain, and operate our Services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us. This includes:
- AI Service Providers (e.g., Azure API, OpenAI API): For text-to-speech conversion and AI-powered content analysis. The textual content of your submitted URLs and your interest tags (as part of prompts) are shared for these purposes.
- Hosting and Infrastructure Providers (e.g., Cloudflare, Neon): For backend operations, database hosting, and data storage.
- Push Notification Services (e.g., Apple Push Notification Service - APNS): To send service-related notifications.
- Analytics Providers: To collect usage data (typically aggregated and anonymized) to help us improve our service.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of our users or others.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, sale, or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.

How Do We Protect Your Data?
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures, such as encryption and access controls, to safeguard your personal data. While these measures help protect your information, no internet transmission or electronic storage can be entirely secure. We strongly recommend using robust security practices for your own devices and accounts. Transmitting personal information to and from our Services is done at your own discretion and risk.
For all payments for LilyFM Pro, these are handled by Apple via In-App Purchase and are not stored or processed on our servers.
Managing Your Privacy

California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (the "Shine The Light" law) permits California residents to request, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year. To make such a request, please submit it in writing using the contact information below.
If you are under 18, reside in California, and have a registered account with the App, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on the App (if applicable). To request removal of such data, please contact us using the contact information provided below, and include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California. We will make sure the data is not publicly displayed on the App, but please be aware that the data may not be completely or comprehensively removed from all our systems (e.g., backups, etc.).
International Data Transfers
In order to provide services globally, your personal data may be transferred across borders. We are well aware of the importance of data protection, so if the country/region to which the data is transferred has different data protection laws from the country/region where you initially provided the information, we will implement special protective mechanisms. Specifically, if we transfer data originating from the European Economic Area (EEA) to a country that does not meet the EU standards for data protection, we will rely on the standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission, or make decisions based on the European Commission's assessment of the adequacy of data protection in specific countries, to ensure that your data is properly protected.
